Lord of the Red Rings

Wow...I thought my run of bad luck was at an end...having already contracted Glandular Fever this recently, and also having some pssibly severe liver problems, I thought "Well, it can't get worse I guess..."

Wrong!!!

My 360 Red-Ringed yet again! This is the 7th one that has broken...SEVENTH!!! I am officially Frodo in this fight against Microsoft...I am the Lord of the Red Rings...and I don't want to be!

This one lasted a good 9 months however, unlike previous ones (a year ago I got one back from Microsoft, switched it on, played for 2 hours then BAAM, red rings) but it's still unacceptable!

Not a happy bunny...

I will, however, continue this blog for those who love it!

I'm off to cry now.

Why...hmm?

So as I'm sitting here in this Halo 3 Custom Game lobby, I'm thinking to myself...why do people play games?

I know why I do...I play games as a hobby...it's something I do to pass some of the time I spend at home, when the weather is wet, or when I just don't feel like going out and doing something. I also play games, online especially, as a way of keeping in touch with some of the people I rarely see anymore...it's good to play, just as it's good to meet up with them to play football or something...the point is, I play it with mates mainly...something to do.

But everybody has a different reason for playing, right?

Some play games (such as runescape) because they're dissapointed with their lives...earning exp and money in game gives them the sense of achievement that their real lives lack somewhat! Others play as a form of escapism, wanting nothing more than to be a hero! And some play only Movie/Book licenses, simply wanting to be involved with their favourite films...

The question is...why do you play your games?

'Witch way now?'

Omg...I can honestly say that I have never played a game as tense and as scary as my latest purchase, Left 4 Dead...

Having played through the entire Resi series, as well as Condemned and Silent Hill, I like to think of myself as a bit of a horror buff, someone who, by now, is able to anticipate what is about to happen during tense moments...and certainly not somebody who scares easily! However, whilst playing through the Campaign of Left 4 Dead online, with friends, I realised that actually there are some genuinely scary creations out there...one of them in particular made me jump approximately 7 feet out of my chair...the culprit? The Witch...

"I've seen scarier" I hear you say...

And granted, she not terrifying to just look at...but she likes to hide in the darkest corner, of the darkest room...and she likes to cry. It's this cry that scares most people, because they know what's coming...shine a torch near her, or make any noise, and BAAM!!! She's running at you, clawing at you, with no warning whatsoever! And she's not easy to kill either! And, just to make matters worse, the way the game places enemies means that you never know where she is until you hear that telltale whimper, that pitiful cry that sends shivers up your spine, as your mind takes you back to the last time you encountered her.

Trust me, scary scary stuff...if you haven't played Left 4 Dead, you owe it to yourself...definitely one of the best games out at the moment, and due to the nature of how everything spawns, you won't get bored of it anytime soon.

Possible Assassin Skull in Halo 3

Word on the Bungie.net street is that there is a new skull called the Assassin Skull...

This was found by somebody who opened the hex code of the game, and then looked at all the skull...and found that this one exists in the code!

There is a big hunt for this on Bnet right now, and I think it's only a matter of time before somebody strikes lucky...

To join the hunt, just go here

Happy hunting!

A looooong break...

Wow...yet again, it's been a long long time since I 'blogged'...I've been way too busy with A-Levels to even begin thinking about what to talk about on my beloved blog. But the time has come for me to re-enter the fray, so to speak, and to begin posting again regularly! You there, stop cheering!

Blogging will resume as normal, talking about the videogame world (with the 360 at it's heart)...

Damn it's good to be back!
